LYME DISEASE

Lyme disease is a tick-borne disease caused by bacteria. It is transmitted by the bite of deer ticks and requires 36 hours of attachment to the skin to pass the bacteria. It is more common in the northeastern or north-central United States. It often happens in late spring and summer seasons.
Lyme disease represents itself by a rash called erythema migrans. The rash is a red spot appearing within 3 to 30 days of the tick bite and can be found in any part of the body. Other symptoms can be chills, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, neck stiffness and joint pain.
Lyme disease can be treated with antibiotics. It can be prevented by avoiding tick-rich areas, wearing protective clothing, and using bug sprays and bathing after outdoor activities. It may cause complications like heart and nervous problems.

Here’s everything you need to know about it: * One of the key factors that minimise the damage is early detection. Watch out for certain signs that indicate a potential stroke: Is one side drooping? Are the arms of one side weaker than the other? Is the speech jumbled or slurred? If you see any of these signs, then immediately connect with a medical expert . * Strokes are treatable if detected in time. If you treat it as an emergency and head to the stroke unit, the damage from the stroke can be minimised. * The usual form of treatment includes clot-busting drugs that...

When the immune system weakens in old age or from diseases like diabetes, HIV infections, etc., the virus activates to cause this disease. Shingles can be itchy, painful red blisters filled with fluid. Fever and headache can be present with this problem. It is treated with painkillers and antiviral medicines. It is best treated within 72 hours of the onset of the  rash . Immunization once in a lifetime is required to prevent shingles.
